Black Women's Roundtable Policy Forum

Sep 18, 2013 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Description:
It's Movement Time! Moving A Unified Women's Agenda Forward in 2013 and Beyond

The Black Women’s Roundtable (BWR) successfully convened a diverse group of women leaders to celebrate “HerStory” and craft a unified agenda during the BWR Women Leaders of the Movement Intergenerational Dialogue & Luncheon hosted as part of the 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington official week of activities.

This session will bring women leaders together from across the country to build upon the key policy priorities that were identified during the recent BWR dialogue. The goal of the session is to move forward a unified women’s agenda that provides just and equitable policies to ensure voting rights, quality and affordable health care, reproductive rights, quality jobs with livable wages, equal pay for women and quality public education for our children. This session will include a solutions-driven discussion of the best national and state-based coalition building and organizing strategies needed to maximize the power and impact of the sister vote to move these women's policy priorities forward in the 113th Congress, the 2014 Election Cycle and beyond.
