National Service Bill - Call to Action

Tomorrow, the U.S. House of Representatives will vote on legislation that will give ALL Americans a chance to make a considerable difference in service and volunteerism.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. taught us that:   "Everybody can be great... because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love."

The GIVE Act will enable our country to hurdle through the economic crisis by allowing Americans of all ages to be a part of the solution to the difficult challenges we face.

Bill (H.R. 1388) will provide volunteer opportunities for Americans ranging from 75,000 to 250,000 in areas like education, clean energy, health care, and assistance for veterans.  College students will also see an increase in their education reward they receive from $4,725 to $5,350 for next year, the same as the maximum Pell Grant scholarship award. In order to keep up with rising college costs, the education award will be linked to match further increases in the Pell Grant scholarship.

Ask Congress to ACT NOW!

Please fill in your address so we can find your elected officials. We need to ask for your complete address because ZIP codes often cross electoral districts.
